Description

The engine page is often displayed, as it provides the main operating parameters for both engines.

To access it, move the RLD Page Selection Switch to the FUEL position, then select the ENG page.

Shortcuts at the bottom of the page provide access to the MISC, HYDR, FUEL and WDNS pages.

The engines are described in greater detail in the engines section.

The gauges display ** until the engine control units (ECU) receive electrical power. This occurs when the aircraft is powered by the GPU or when the engines are running.

Engine parameters

The following parameters are displayed for each engine.

N1

Low-pressure spool speed, expressed as a percentage.

The value turns amber at 103% and red at 105% to indicate an overspeed condition.

T49

Turbine temperature measured between the high-pressure and low-pressure turbines, expressed in Kelvin.

The value turns red above 1184 K, or above 1198 K when the afterburner is active.

N2

High-pressure spool speed, expressed as a percentage.

The value turns amber at 103% and red at 105% to indicate an overspeed condition.

A8

Exhaust nozzle opening, expressed as a percentage of its maximum area.

An inner ring inside the gauge provides a visual representation of the nozzle position and expands as the nozzle opens.

The indication turns magenta when the afterburner is active.

At idle, the nozzle is approximately 90% open. It progressively closes as thrust increases in dry power, then opens fully when the afterburner is engaged.

F/F

The fuel flow of each engine, expressed in kilograms per minute and labelled F/F.

TT

Total temperature, expressed in degrees Celsius and labelled TT.
